About The Designer

Lia Bruce designs unique works of art from the pure and spiritually-powerful salt of the Holy Land.

Her love affair with salt began when she was a child… inspired by her grandmother who sewed salt into little cotton bags to be worn as protective amulets.

Lia Bruce studied architecture at the Technion in Haifa.

She then earned a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design at the Bezalel

Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem.

Her interest with the mystical nature of salt grew as she collaborated with the Chemistry Institute at Hebrew University to reduce the environmental impact of salt-mining in the Dead Sea.

For Lia Bruce, the combination of creative impulse, engineering challenge, and her desire to heal our environment is compelling.

She seeks solutions to environmental problems via artistic pathways which will be practical, innovative, and inspiring.

Saltware Design was born of this idea. Lia Bruce combines her artistic talent with her expertise in architecture and industrial design to make all-natural, vegan, functional art. Each item is individually hand-crafted in her workshop surrounded by a Mediterranean garden. In connecting the dots in her own life, Lia Bruce seeks to heal our world via exquisite art of profound spiritual significance.
